All your dues, reminders, and preferences are stored locally on your device using your operating system's private app storage. Nothing goes to DueGenie servers — there are no DueGenie servers to send it to. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
Because DueGenie stores data locally on your device (not in the cloud), uninstalling the app removes your dues permanently — we don't have a copy. To avoid this in the future, use Settings → Export CSV before uninstalling or changing devices. We're actively considering a private encrypted backup option for a future release.
AI features are optional and require your own Google Gemini API key (free tier available at aistudio.google.com). Go to Settings → AI Assistant to configure. Without a key, the app works fully — you just don't get the AI conveniences.
Check three things: (1) Settings → Notifications → Push Notifications is enabled; (2) your device's system Settings has notifications enabled for DueGenie; (3) the individual due has "Reminder" enabled with a time set. If all three are correct and it's still not working, send us a bug report — include the due's title and the reminder time you set.
Currently no — the initial onboarding requires Google Sign-In, which is used only for personalising the app with your name and profile photo (both stored locally). We're evaluating making this optional in a future release.
Settings → Data & Privacy → Reset All Data. This permanently removes every due, category, preference, and your profile from the device. Because we don't hold data on servers, there's nothing else to delete.
Because "the app is broken" isn't enough for us to actually fix anything. Even one extra sentence — "when I tap Add on the home tab, nothing happens" — takes 30 seconds to write and saves us hours of guessing. If you're stuck for what to say, describe what you were doing when the issue happened.
